Over 60,000 Sqm Cleared of Mines, Explosive Ordnances Near Erbil

(BasNews) The Kurdistan Mine Action Agency has cleared more than 60,000 square meters of land mines, explosive ordnances and war remnants in a rural area of Choman district, Erbil province.

Ali Abdulrahman, Director General of the Agency, told BasNews that the field was located in the village of Eni in Choman district which was cleared in cooperation with ITF organization, noting that they were destroyed in the field.

The field is safe now and can be used for tourism or agriculture purposes, Abdulrahman pointed out.
