Workshop gathers information to tackle remnants of landmines

(Khmer Times) The ASEAN Regional Mine Action Centre (ARMAC), which operates the ASEAN Security Cooperation, yesterday held its inaugural strategy stakeholder workshop in Phnom Penh, aimed at gathering information to encourage the efforts to address landmines and explosive remnants of war in the region.

Representatives from over 15 government and non-government organisations attended yesterday’s workshop, which was part of a year-long project aimed at strengthening institutional and staff capacities of humanitarian mine action entities in the ASEAN Region with the support of the New Zealand Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
