Important JMU vaccination information

Faculty, Staff and Graduate Assistants:

In partnership with the Virginia Department of Health (VDH) and the Central Shenandoah Health District (CSHD), we continue to monitor the progress of vaccinations in our area. The CSHD will soon be completing the vaccination of those who fall within Phase 1b and will move to those who fall within Phase 1c.

Phase 1c includes faculty and staff in higher education. Therefore, if you have not already done so, it is important that you pre-register in preparation for Phase 1c of the vaccination process.

To ensure that CSHD contacts you as soon as possible, remember to select the option informing them that you work in higher education. It is equally important that you inform them if you have an underlying health condition (as you preregister, you will be asked each of these questions). Click this link to pre-register for the first time or to confirm/update an earlier pre-registration:

OR you may call:

(IMPORTANTE: Descubra cómo vacunarse visitando o llamando al 1-877-829-4682. Servicios de traducción y teléfonos de texto (TTY) disponibles.)

Employees are not required to take the vaccine. Choosing to be vaccinated is your personal and voluntary choice.

Once you have been completely vaccinated, you are encouraged to voluntarily provide this information through MyJMUChart. This will be helpful for University Health Center staff to have awareness of the overall vaccination rate of the campus community.

You can expect to receive additional vaccine-related emails from me. These emails will keep you informed of developments that may impact you directly. Please monitor your email closely and urge your friends and colleagues to do the same.
