JMU Board of Visitors meeting notice - UPDATED

Thursday, Sept. 13

An orientation for new members of the James Madison University Board of Visitors will be held on Thursday, Sept. 13, 2018, at 10 a.m. in the Board Room of the Festival Conference and Student Center. A quorum of the Board of Visitors will not be present and, therefore, no action will be taken nor will any public comment be taken at the orientation.

Friday, Sept. 14

The James Madison University Board of Visitors will meet on Friday, Sept. 14, 2018 at 1 p.m. in the Board Room of the Festival Conference and Student Center. No public comment will be taken at the meeting.

Prior to the full board meeting on Friday, Sept. 14, 2018, board committees will meet as follows. All meeting rooms are in the Festival Conference and Student Center.

  • 8 a.m., Advancement Committee, Allegheny Room
  • 8 a.m., Athletic Committee, Meeting Room 3
  • 8 a.m., Audit Committee, Meeting Room 1
  • 10 a.m., Academics and Student Life Committee, Highlands Room
  • 10 a.m., Finance and Physical Development Committee, Meeting Room 3

Due to the expected inclement weather, the following meeting has changed date, time and location since the meeting notice was originally posted. In accordance with § 2.2-3707, the university is posting public notice of a meeting that would not otherwise require notice because three members of the Board of Visitors will be in attendance for the university’s Campaign Steering Committee meeting on Friday, Sept. 14, 2018, at 3:30 p.m. in the Allegheny Room of the Festival Conference and Student Center. (Note: The meeting was original scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 15, at 9 a.m. in the Hotel Madison Allegheny Room. The updated location is the Allegheny Room in the Festival Conference and Student Center.)

Immediately upon convening, the Campaign Steering Committee will move into closed session in accordance with § 2.2-3711 of the Code of Virginia. No public comment will be taken at the meeting.
