The Presidential Primary is on Tuesday, March 1, and all students, faculty and staff are encouraged to vote. For students who registered their on-campus address, or live in the immediate surrounding area, JMU is proud to comprise a new voting precinct. For the first time, those eligible can find their polling place at the Convocation Center.
Voting will take place from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. In order to participate, be sure to bring a valid picture ID to your polling place.
For those submitting an absentee ballot by mail, applications are due by 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 23. For those submitting an absentee ballot in person, you must appear at the local registrar’s office by 5 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 27.
As the primary election approaches, keep in mind the importance of every single vote. As JMU is committed to fostering enlightened students, engaged with the world, this civic participation is critical.
