JMU Police Test Notification Systems Sunday, Sept. 21, 2008
NewsStudents, Faculty and Staff:
JMU will conduct a test of the comprehensive emergency response communication systems on Sunday, September 21, at 3:00pm. At this time Madison Alert, the outdoor siren and PA system, will be tested with a siren and audible message that will be broadcast across the system, a blast email message will be sent and a test text message/voice message will be sent to the cell phones of all individuals who have enrolled for emergency notification through either e-campus (students) or J-ESS (faculty and staff).
If you have not already enrolled to receive emergency notifications via your cell phone, please log in to e-campus (students) or J-ESS (faculty and staff) by Friday, September 19 and provide your cell phone information and authorize its use by the University for emergency notification. If you enrolled to receive emergency notifications via your cell phone but have not logged into e-campus or J-ESS to validate the information, we encourage you to do so by Friday, September 19. Please note that you must explicitly authorize JMU to contact you via your cell phone for emergencies. If you have not authorized JMU to contact you via cell phone for emergencies, even though your cell phone information is in e-campus or J-ESS, you will not receive emergency notifications. Instructions are available via e-campus and J-ESS tutorials available on the respective login pages.

A survey will be sent via email following the test for you to provide feedback regarding the test. Please take a few minutes and complete the survey. If you have any questions regarding the upcoming test, please reply to this email.
Thanks,
