JMU's Class of 2012 Arrives Aug. 19-20 in Phased Move-In
NewsHARRISONBURG - Members of James Madison University's freshman class will move into their campus residence halls beginning at 9 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 19, and continuing through Wednesday, Aug. 20.
As the 3,850 new residential freshman students arrive in Harrisonburg, traffic congestion near campus will increase. To ease vehicular and pedestrian traffic, JMU freshmen will arrive on campus in evenly split groups over the course of the two days.
JMU officials are encouraging university employees to carpool, walk or use alternative means of transportation to help reduce the number of vehicles on campus during freshman move-in.
Residence halls open at 9 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 23, for returning students.
Monday, Aug. 25, is the first day of classes for JMU's fall semester.
