J. Barkley Rosser, Sr. Memorial Economic Scholarship Endowment

     Freshman Only? No
 Information:
An endowed scholarship established in October 1989 by Dr. J. Barkley Rosser, Jr. in memory of his father. The Donor's intention is to provide scholarship support for a junior-undergraduate student who is a declared major in either the Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Science, or Bachelor of Business Administration program in Economics in the College of Business. The successful student will be among those with the three highest overall GPAs, with the final choice by the selection committee to be based on a consideration of the degree of challenge of the courses taken by the student. The appointment of a student as a Rosser Scholar shall follow the University's guidelines for the awarding of scholarships.
 

Howard M. and Jane S. Wilhelm Scholarship

 Criteria:
     Need Based? No
     Freshman Only? No
 Information:
An endowed scholarship established May 9, 1989 to be used during the recipient's senior year. Recipients shall be economics majors in their junior year, with an above average GPA. Recipients shall have demonstrated leadership skills in campus activities and have the potential for graduate study in economics. Recipients shall be recommended by the economics faculty to the Financial Aid office.
 

Sara C. Yakovac Memorial Scholarship Fund

 Criteria:
     Need Based? No
     Freshman Only? No
 Information:
An endowed scholarship established with a gift by Major General and Mrs. Joseph L. Yakovac in memory of Sara C. Yakovac. It is intended that this scholarship will benefit a JMU Student who merits the following criteria: Outstanding academic achievement, coupled with leadership and/or active participation to the maximum of his/her ability, within the Economics Program, other University related activities, or community services during college tenure. This scholarship is intended for sophomores, juniors, or seniors. If at any time the student recipient fails to meet the requirements or when the student graduates, a new student will be selected based on the established criteria. The scholarship recipient will be selected by the JMU Faculty of the Economics Program within the College of Business. If James Madison University does not enroll any student meeting the above criteria, this Fund may be used to assist any JMU student.
