Welcome

Welcome to James Madison University’s website for the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC).

JMU was first awarded this institutional report card in 1927 by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. Every ten years, JMU’s accreditation must be reaffirmed, with the most recent reaffirmation in December 2023. Between each reaffirmation cycle, institutions submit a Fifth-Year Interim Report, which JMU submitted in Spring 2019 along with an impact report on the implementation of the Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP) - Ethical Reasoning in Action. The next Fifth-Year Interim Report will be completed in Spring 2029.
