Gilda Hinman ('54)
The late Gilda Hinman ('54) was an avid fisherwoman, but her most important castings were lines she threw to hundreds of students during a long career as a physical and health education teacher and coach. Described by many as "full of life," she "could get the most out of her students." One wrote of her: "She was a strong influence in my life because she was a strong woman." While her earthly life has ended, her influence will continue uninterrupted. Gilda's bequest of her estate to Madison means that Gilda's legacy will continue to change students' lives through scholarships that give them opportunities to find lives that matter.
