Indonesian Ammunition Depot Suffers Explosion

(tempo) General Agus Subiyanto, the Indonesian National Military (TNI) Commander, disclosed that 65 tons of expired munitions were impacted by a recent fire at the Army ammunition depot in Ciangsana, Bogor District, West Java. The munitions, originating from various units under the Jakarta Regional Military Command, undergo checks and disposal procedures at the depot.

Subiyanto mentioned that the financial losses from the incident haven't been revealed yet. Despite bringing the fire under control, the military continues to assess the site and potential impact on nearby residential areas. The cooling process for affected depots took eight to ten hours without further explosions, as confirmed by the East Jakarta Fire Mitigation and Rescue Service.
