Biology's Lon Jarvis receives JMU President's Purple Star Award for Innovation

SUMMARY: Jarvis was instrumental in procuring, setting up, and networking microscopes and associated computer hardware and software for the microbiology laboratory in room 3023 of the Bioscience building.
Lon Jarvis, Computer Systems Administrator for thr Dept. of Biology, was recently awarded the President's Purple Star Award for Innovation. Lon was instrumental in procuring, setting up, and networking microscopes and associated computer hardware and software for the microbiology laboratory in room 3023 of the Bioscience building. This setup now allows students and instructors to directly visualize, compare, save, and share microscope images direclty on laboratory iPads.
