About EYH

Expanding Your Horizons (EYH) is a free one-day conference aimed at girls in grades 7-10. The girls each participate in exciting, hands-on workshops organized by JMU mathematics and statistics faculty and attend a keynote speech by a prominent woman scientist. The goals of the conference are to stimulate the participants' interest in math and science through these hands-on activities, to provide them with female scientist role models, and to foster awareness of opportunities in math and science-related careers.

While the workshops are aimed at young women in grades 7-10, all young women in grades 6-11 are invited to attend.  Parents and teachers are invited to accompany their students to all of the activities.

All participants will receive a free breakfast and lunch.  There are no registration fees.

Registration for the 2013 Conference is now open.  To register, click the registration link in the side bar and complete the online registration form.  Please register early!!  Registration will close on March 11th or when the conference fills (whichever occurs first).

The workshop descriptions are posted on the Student Workshops page.  You will be asked to list your top 8 workshop choices when you register.

Parents and teachers who plan to accompany their students should register so that we will have adequate space and food.

To receive announcements about the conference, join our email list or like the EYH page on Facebook.
