One-day Mathematics Conference for High School Women

The Department of Mathematics and Statistics is the host for the 1st annual "Expanding Your Horizons (EYH) Conference" for young women in grades 9-11 on Saturday, April 26, 2008 in the ISAT/CS Building from 10am-4pm.

The purpose of the conference is to stimulate young women's interest in mathematics in order to prepare for expanded career options in the future. Fun, hands-on workshops will be offered by JMU faculty in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics. The conference will conclude with an exciting keynote address by Dr. Monica Neagoy, a mathematician and actor.
