Africana Studies at JMU announces two sponsored exhibitions at the Madison Art Collection (Festival Gallery). This is part of the U.S. Department of Education grant activities to enhance Africana Studies at JMU.

1) "Through the Generations" is a collection of African America Art from the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts. This Madison Art Collection Exhibition is for about two weeks--starting Monday 24 March through 3 April 2008).

2) The second collection to be exhibited is "Human Rights"--a collection of photos from Apartheid South Africa. The collection is on loan from Michigan State University Museum.

Human Rights exhibition beings on 7 April at the Madison Art Collection Gallery (Festival) and comes down on 1 May 2008. Please mention the information to your colleagues whose teaching contents may benefit from the images on display. Also, announce to your students.
