The Ways of the World: Exploring Multiculturalism at JMU, Course #HR1168
Did you know that in China it is considered bad manners to make eye contact when speaking? Did you know that in England, new mothers are given a year of paid maternity leave? Can you explain the difference between Hispanic, Latino and Mexican?
In this year-long program, we will explore a few of the many countries represented at JMU. Once a month we will meet to discuss the communication styles, common business practices, personal space/intimacy zone issues and how predominant religions can affect the work place for a particular country or group of countries.
Join us as we explore the ways of the world… All sessions are held from 8:30 AM - 12:00 PM in the nTelos Room (ISAT/CS 259)
