Dr. Brian Richmond is an associate professor in the George Washington University department of anthropology and a Research Associate with the Human Origins Program at the Smithsonian Institution's National Museum of Natural History. His research, which is supported by the National Science Foundation, focuses on ape and human evolution, particularly the functional anatomy of locomotion. Dr. Richmond's fieldwork includes sites in Turkey, Ethiopia and Koobi Fora, Kenya.
