Visions for the Future: Muslim Women in North Africa and France

On Wednesday, March 26, 2008, the Honors Program and Cross Disciplinary Studies will present a lecture by Dr. Doris Gray entitled, "Visions for the Future: Muslim Women in North Africa and France." Her talk will be held at 5:00pm in ISAT 159.

Dr. Gray is Visiting Professor of Modern Languages and Women's Studies at Florida State University. She will discuss her new book, Muslim Women on the Move (2007), which is based on three years of extensive personal interviews of Muslim women in Morocco and young educated women of Moroccan origin living in France. Her research challenges conventional dichotomies between East and West. Her book will be available for sale after her talk and a book signing will also take place.
