On Wednesday, March 19, the Honors Program Symposium will present a national leader on issues of academic freedom: Dr. Bill Scheuerman, a political scientist, President of the National Labor College in Maryland and former President of the United University Professions (1993-2007), the nation's largest academic union.

Dr. Scheuerman's talk, "Stealth Totalitarianism: Questioning the Academic Bill of Rights," will take place on Wednesday, March 19, at 5:00pm in ISAT 159. His talk will interest students, faculty and staff since he will discuss issues of free speech for students, academic speech for professors as well as campus and classroom climate on political speech.

Dr. Scheuerman's talk is open to the public. Please come, invite your students, friends, neighbors, and community members.
