From: Office of Institutional Research
As you know, WebSurveyor, the online web survey tool used at JMU, has been sold to Vovici (http://www.vovici.com) and that the education grant program under which JMU has been using WebSurveyor for the past 4 years has been discontinued.
The university has generously negotiated an extension to our license for the next 12 months. If you or your faculty have surveys running or plan to launch a survey soon, you may continue with those plans. OIR also strongly encourages you to continue to export all data associated with any completed survey at the end of your data collection.
We expect to upgrade the software and will let you know when that will take place. We will continue to explore various options to extend or replace this survey development tool and will keep you informed. Training and creation of new WebSurveyor accounts will resume once the upgrade has been installed.
Thanks to those individuals from Procurement, the Library, IT, and Administration and Finance who worked diligently to ensure the continuation of this software for the next year.
