We invite you to nominate faculty, staff, students – any member of the JMU community is eligible to nominate or be nominated - for the Spring 2012 All Together One Awards. There is no special form to use. Student members of Omicron Delta Kappa serve as the selection committee. You may use the following criteria to help structure your nomination:
1. building community
2. inspiring others
3. a feeling of caring
4. a dedication to learning
5. a commitment to working together
6. unique contribution of nominee
The spirit at James Madison University is very special. This special spirit is the unique closeness that binds Madison community members with one another.
Since President Linwood H. Rose introduced the university theme “all together one” in 1999, it has been used by numerous JMU student groups to express and shape their ideas and goals.
The all together one community gathering was created in 2000 by members of the JMU Circle of , the National Leadership Honor Society. Each spring, student members host this special event. Awards consist of: a pin, a stone placed in The Commons, and an inspirational story about each award recipient read on The Commons at 12 noon.
NOMINATIONS DEADLINE: Friday, March 16, by email attachment sent to email@example.com, or hand carried to Sue Bauer’s office, Taylor Hall, Room 205B.
Tuesday, April 10, 2012, at 12 noon. Presented in a ceremony on The Commons (outdoors, weather permitting...or, indoors in Grafton–Stovall Theatre). Award recipients, their families, and their nominators will be notified prior to the ceremony.
