HARRISONBURG — James Madison University's School of Art and Art History will combine learning and fun when it offers art education programs for children ages 6 through 12 and in grades 7 and 8, Monday through Thursday, June 15-18 and June 22-25.
Led by certified art teachers, the age-appropriate courses include "Wearable Art," creating masks, landscape inspired painting and printmaking, "Mural Art," sculptural paper constructions and ceramics.
Classes are scheduled from 9 a.m. to noon and from 1 to 4 p.m. Students may attend both morning and afternoon classes. All classes will be held in the Studio Center at 106 Grace St., near the main JMU campus.
The cost per class is $60. There is an additional $5 fee for students staying through the lunch hour, when short workshops are planned. Course fees do not include lunch or snacks.
Enrollment in each course is limited to 10 students and is on a first-come, first-served basis.
