Second Life Open House & Building Contest

From: Madison Art Collection

Come visit the virtual campus of JMU in Second Life on Wednesday 2/18/2009 from 4:00-5:00pm. We’ve got a new student union where you can be part of a music band, practice your virtual dancing, or pick up a free JMU t-shirt. Wilson Hall has also been remodeled so that you can now view campus from the cupola or explore the mysterious steam tunnels under campus, or perhaps play a piano recital in the auditorium. Also newly opened is the virtual art museum featuring the exhibit design work of JMU’s museum studies students using the Madison Art Collection.

If you’d like to learn how to build in this virtual world, Jeremy Hawkins of University Unions (aka Yemrej Harlow) and Kate Stevens of the Madison Art Collection (aka Lykopis Darkstone) will give demonstrations and answer questions. Build our virtual Duke Dog a dog house and you could win 500 Linden Dollars! More details will be available during the open house.
