Spots Available for JMU'S Camp UREC

From: University Recreation

Looking for something for your children to get involved with this summer? Then Camp UREC is the place for you! Each week at Camp UREC will offer a variety of activities for children age 6-12. Camp UREC combines a playground camp with traditional sport camps. Campers will participate in traditional and non-traditional sports while receiving instruction to further their experience. Our goal is to build a variety of sport skills, teach healthy lifestyle habits, and encourage teamwork.

A typical week at camp will include a variety of sport and recreational activities, opportunities to climb the UREC wall, swimming and arts and crafts. This year children will be exposed to other areas on campus such as the Arboretum and experiences with our Dining Service's Chef! ** Local Harrisonburg services such as the Fire Department and Police will be stopping in as well as martial artists for demonstrations. One final addition we are excited about is Friday field trips to local Harrisonburg establishments such as the Children’s Museum, each Friday will be a different location.
