Do you want a unique opportunity to make a lasting impression on freshmen about academic life at JMU? Do you have sage advice for students about what it takes to succeed at JMU? Are you interested in helping students understand what you and your faculty colleagues expect of them in your classes? Are you committed to enhancing the academic culture of JMU?
If you answered yes to any of these questions, then come learn about a wonderful program called CONVERSATIONS WITH PROFESSORS. It is an opportunity for University level service which takes only 75 minutes of your time on Thursday, August 21st. Once you give this a try, you'll be hooked! Faculty who participate do so year and year again and this quote indicates why… “I just got back into my office from my experience, and it was great. Always a good way to begin the academic year!”
To learn more and find out how easy it is, join Steve Grande and participating faculty next Thursday, May 15 in Taylor 404. Select a 10-11:30 or 1-2:30 introductory session (refreshments provided). Participants will be provided with a packet of resources developed by the Center for Faculty Innovation which will make your participation a snap! Sign up: CWP RSVP
This is an opportunity to establish expectations with the newest members of our community about what it means to be a great student. This is your chance to let students know what it takes to do well here. You get to design your session, but we’ll provide you with all the materials and support you need to make this a rewarding experience. All faculty members are encouraged to lead a session.
