Photo Contest

The Office of International Programs is pleased to host the 12th annual International Photo Contest. Contest rules are as follows - any photo not conforming to all contest rules will be declared ineligible.

Rules

  • All photos must be printed on photo-quality paper no larger than 4” X 6”
  • Photos must have been taken outside the United States
  • Contestants must be JMU students, faculty, staff or official affiliates of JMU
  • Photos can be black-and-white or color
  • No more than three photos may be submitted per contestant
  • Photos must be received in the ISSS office, J-MAC 6, Suite 23, no later than Friday, September 16, noon (12 p.m.)
  • The back of each photo must contain the following:
    1. Photographer's name
    2. Photographer's JMU email address
    3. Country where the photo was taken
    4. One of the following categories: People, Nature, Architecture, Miscellaneous. Each contestant must identify only one category in which the photo will be judged
    5. Title of photo (optional)

The winning photos will be selected by a panel of judges whose decisions are final. Winners will be announced in four categories: People, Nature, Architecture, and Miscellaneous.

By entering the contest you are giving JMU permission to use/display your photos. Photos will not be returned to contestants. All winning contestants will be asked to provide the electronic original of the photo, suitable for printing in a larger format.

Winning entries will be displayed in Prism Gallery during JMU's annual I-Week!
