NOTE: Ratios were calculated by dividing by dividing FTE students by FTE faculty. FTE students is based on credit hours produced by the primary department assignment of the instructor. FTE faculty counts each full-time faculty member by their primary department assignment, including department heads, as one FTE irrespective of teaching load. The FTE value of courses taught by part-time faculty is added to the full-time faculty count. Beginning in Fall 1994, the FTE of all full-time faculty teaching abroad was based on load and the student FTE was adjusted for team teaching across departments. Beginning in Fall 1996, all graduate student positions (GTAs, GAs, SAs, and RAs) were counted as 0.25 FTE. The change in counting graduate assistants resulted in a lower overall ratio for Fall 1996. 1993-94 and 1994-95 data for the former Geology & Geography Department has been recalculated into the Geology & Environmental Studies Department and the Center for Geographic Information Science. Four education programs are combined into the School of Education for Fall 1995, Fall 1996, and Fall 1997. The College of Business was restructured around its programs beginning Fall 1997. Data was analyzed into the old department structure to calculate the 1997-98 ratios.
