Panel One: Physical Protection Problems and Approaches
Major facilities are subject to a variety of threats that must be considered during facility design and operation. At the same time, the vulnerability of the facility to these threats will also vary and depend on location, design and construction. This panel will address the process from the initial planning and design considerations, through the assessment of threats and vulnerabilities, to actual physical design and construction features that can be incorporated to counter specific threats and reduce overall vulnerability.

With their various roles in cybersecurity as a backdrop, panelists will provide perspectives on current challenges and approaches to providing information protection for the large facilities they represent. By discussing differences, similarities, solutions and lessons learned, they will illustrate aspects of the broader information security landscape and offer attendees points of comparison and a menu of possible ideas for enriching future protection programs.

Panel Three: Facility Protection Case Studies
The panel will include overviews and discussion of exemplary security programs for large facility complexes. Panelists will address a diverse range of security issues and challenges confronting directors of major port authority operations, our nation’s largest dams, and sporting events such as the Super Bowl. Panelists will describe solutions to consider or reject and provide lessons from actual program implementation experience.
