Hispanic Scholarship Fund
The Hispanic Scholarship Fund (HSF) is the nation's leading organization supporting Hispanic higher education. Founded in 1975, HSF's vision is to strengthen the country by advancing college education among Hispanic Americans. During its 30-year history, HSF has awarded more than 73,000 in excess of $170 million to Hispanic students who have attended more than 1,700 colleges. Awards range from $1,000 to $2,500.
Eligibility:
- Be of Hispanic heritage
- Be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident with a permanent resident card or passport stamped I-551 (not expired)
- Minimum 3.00 cumulative gpa required on a 4.00 scale (or the equivalent)
- Must apply for federal financial aid using the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
College Scholarship Program:
- Be an undergraduate or graduate student enrolled full-time in a degree seeking program at a U.S. accredited institution in the U.S., Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands or Guam
- Must have completed 12 units at a U.S. accredited institution

Program:
- Be enrolled part-time or full-time at a community college

APHL/CDC EID Laboratory Fellowship
The Emerging Infectious Diseases
(EID) Laboratory Fellowship Program prepares laboratory scientists
for careers in public health. The two-track program (training and
research) emphasizes the practical application of technologies,
methodologies and practices related to emerging infectious
diseases.
Emerging Infectious Diseases Advanced Laboratory
Training Fellowship
- Must have completed a bachelors or masters level degree in biology, chemistry virology or a related scientific discipline or completed an accredited medical technological program
- Must be a US citizen
Emerging Infectious Diseases Postdoctoral
Laboratory Fellowship
- Must have received a PhD, MD ort DVM (or have completed all requirement for such a degree)

NDU-Lebanon Scholarship for Students in the USA
This scholarship provides an
opportunity for one qualified American student to study abroad at
NDU, Lebanon for one semester. The $3000 scholarship will be in the
form of free tuition and lodging during the academic semester. The
recipient is responsible for all transportation costs to and from
the US and Beirut, Lebanon.

Suntrust Off to College Scholarship
High school seniors can win a $1,000 scholarship for first year expenses at an accredited college or private career school, plus a $250 SunTrust Gift Card. There are fifteen chances to win with one winner being chosen every two weeks from October 31, 2006, through May 11, 2007. Winner's school of attendance will also receive $1,000. Students can begin registering September 15, 2006, and the first drawing will be held on October 31, 2006.

RFCA Educational Foundation
Robinson, Farmer, Cox Associates
Educational Foundation (Charlottesville, VA) was formed in 2000 to
provide scholarship or grant funds for students of the professions
including accounting, law, medicine and engineering and students
who have an interest in a career in governmental service, public
administration or public service in Virginia. With the cost of
higher education on the rise, the Foundation aims to aid successful
students in achieving affordable educations.

essay questions. Each application is brought before the
Foundation's selection committee for consideration based on
academic achievement and articulate responses to the essay

The Sallie Mae 911 Education Fund Scholarship Program
The Sallie Mae 911 Education Fund was created in response to the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001. The scholarship program is open to children of those who were killed or permanently disabled as a result of the terrorist attacks, and who are enrolled as full-time undergraduate students at approves, accredited institutions. Scholarship awards of up to $2,500 per application, per school year, are available and may be renewed on an annual basis, subject to satisfactory academic progress.

2008-09 Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi Scholarships
The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi's ongoing commitment to excellence is reflected in its scholarships and awards programs. More than $700,000 is awarded each year to outstanding Phi Kappa Phi members and chapters through the Society's various awards competitions: the Fellowship, Phi Kappa Phi Scholar & Artist, Emerging Scholar Awards, Study Abroad Grants, Literacy Grants, and Love of Learning.
Phi Kappa Phi sets high standards for its award recipients. Selection committees comprised of representatives from each of the Society's five regions carefully review all applications. Applicants are evaluated based on numerous factors, including academic recognition and awards, campus and community involvement, leadership experiences, and quality and scope of proposed program.

Fellowship Programs at The Metropolitan Museum of Art
The Fellowship Program at The Metropolitan Museum of Art offers graduate students and senior scholars from the United States and around the world the opportunity to undertake study and research related to their work in art history, archaeology, and art conservation, either at the Museum or abroad.
Possible fields of research for art history candidates include Western art; Asian art; the arts of Africa, Oceania, and the Americas; antiquities; arms and armor; costumes; drawings; illuminated manuscripts; paintings; photographs; sculpture; and textiles. Some fellowships for travel abroad are also available for students whose projects involve firsthand examination of paintings in major European collections.
Conservation and scientific research fellows may work with paintings, textiles, musical instruments, costumes, paper, or objects (including sculpture, metalwork, glass, ceramics, furniture, and archaeological objects). Applicants for the conservation and scientific research fellowships should have reached an advanced level of experience or training.
A two-year research scholarship in photograph conservation is offered in alternate years. Applicants for this position are expected to have a graduate degree in conservation or equivalent experience and should be completely committed to the conservation of photographs as their area of specialization.

Hispanic College Fund Scholarships
Last year the Hispanic College Fund awarded $2.4 million to over 600 students nationwide. HCF Scholars not only benefit from funding, but also from joining a powerful network of HCF Scholars, corporate executives and government leaders vested in developing the next generation of Hispanic professionals. HCF Scholars include some of the nation's top college students studying business, finance, engineering and the sciences. Through the HCF network, students have started careers at companies like Lockheed Martin, Estee Lauder Companies and Sallie Mae. All students must meet the following minimum eligibility criteria. 2008-09 Sallie Mae Fund Scholarship Programs
The Sallie Mae Fund sponsors several scholarship programs and supports hundreds of college scholarships. All of our programs are based on financial need, as The Fund seeks to bridge the dollar gap when no one else can. With an estimated $3 billion in private scholarships awarded nationally each year, The Fund aims to send the message that money is available to those who make the effort to apply. Since 2001, The Sallie Mae Fund has awarded more than $12.7 million in scholarships to more than 5,000 students. The Sallie Mae Fund provides scholarships through a number of its own programs that address a common barrier to higher education access: financial need. These scholarships include:
American Dream Scholarship
Established in partnership with the United Negro College Fund, the American Dream Scholarship Program is open to African-Americans with financial need. Scholarships range from $500 to $5,000.
Eligibility:
- U.S. citizen or permanent resident
- Minimum of 2.5 GPA
- Must be Pell Grant eligible
- Enrolled fulltime at approved, accredited undergraduate institutions
First in My Family Scholarship
The First in My Family Scholarship Program, developed in partnership with the Hispanic College Fund, offers scholarships to Hispanic-American students who are the first in their family to attend college and have financial need. Scholarships range from $500 to $5,000.

- Hispanic-Americans who are U.S. citizens or permanent residents
- Enrolled as full time undergraduate students at approved, accredited institutions.
- Minimum of 3.0 GPA
Unmet Need Scholarship
Open to families with a combined income of $30,000 or less, this program is intended to supplement financial aid packages that fall more than $1,000 short of students financial needs. This scholarship is not designed as a substitute for aid provided by an institution. Scholarships range from $1,000 to $3,800.

- U.S. citizen or permanent resident
- Accepted or enrolled fulltime at an approved, accredited undergraduate institution
- Minimum of 2.5 GPA
- Demonstrate financial need

Army Emergency Relief Scholarship Program
AER is a private nonprofit organization incorporated in 1942 by the Secretary of War and the Army Chief of Staff. AER's sole mission is to help soldiers and their dependents. It is the Army Emergency Relief's objective to ensure all Army Families, active, retired, and survivor, are made aware of the scholarship opportunities available for the spouse and dependent children of soldiers.

Eligibility:

- Acceptance of a scholarship requires that the applicant commit to a paid 10-12 week intern work session during the summer. This work session is contingent upon satisfactory completion of normal pre-employment requirements.

Applications must be postmarked by December 1 (late applications will not be processed). All applications will be reviewed by a panel, and the panel will conduct interviews for selected candidates.

GEICO Achievement Award Program
For over 20 years, we have offered the Achievement Award program. It's just one of the ways that we support some of our country's most outstanding undergraduate students. We're presenting $1,000 awards to exceptional college students. In 2010, we will present over $75,000 in Achievement Awards to college students across the United States.
Eligibility:
- Undergraduates attending an accredited four-year college or university
- Sophomore or junior status
- Have achieved at least a 3.0 overall GPA
- Are majoring in business, computer science, mathematics or a related program
- Have demonstrated leadership within their campus or community

Virginia Council of Teachers of Mathematics
The Virginia Council of Teachers of Mathematics (VCTM) encourages those persons interested in becoming teachers of mathematics by offering up to two (2) scholarships of $2,000 annually. VCTM’s objective in establishing this program is to unite the efforts of its members who seek to improve the teaching of mathematics. In March 2010 the VCTM will award one or two $2,000 scholarships to prospective mathematics teachers. Talbots Women’s Scholarship Fund
In keeping with its long standing traditions of serving the community, the Talbots Charitable Foundation is proud to present the 2010 Talbots Scholarship Foundation and the inaugural Nancy Talbot Scholarship Award for perseverance and ingenuity, which is presented in memory of the founder of Talbots. This program Empowers women to enrich themselves through learning and achieve a college education later in life. The Talbots Foundation will award $180,000 in college scholarships and one $30,000 scholarship to an extraordinary finalist demonstrating courage, conviction and an insatiable entrepreneurial spirit.

- Be a women currently residing in the United States or Canada
- Have earned a high school diploma or GED on or before September 2000
- Enrolled or planning to enroll in a full or part time undergraduate course of study at an accredited 2 or 4 year college, university, or vocational-technical school

Virginia Space Grant Consortium
The Virginia Space Grant Consortium (VSGC) is a coalition of five Virginia colleges and universities, NASA, state educational agencies, Virginia's Center for Innovative Technology, and other institutions representing diverse aerospace education and research. The VSGC acts as an umbrella organization, coordinating and developing aerospace-related and high technology educational and research efforts throughout the Commonwealth and connecting Virginia's effort to a national community of shared aerospace interests.

Virginia Association for Legal Staff (VALS)
VALS, the association for legal professionals, is organized for the purpose of providing education to those engaged in the legal services profession. Its mission is achieved by promoting the ethical conduct of its members by sponsoring programs on continuing legal education and professionalism within the Commonwealth of Virginia and through its continued commitment to the NALS Code of Ethics. Each year VALS presents a $1,500 scholarship to a student based on need, ambition, and merit for the purpose of furthering the student’s education in the legal field.
