In 1989 after 34 years of teaching in Fairfax County, Joyce retired to pursue other interests: traveling, volunteer work and hobbies.  She continues to teach at her church, where at the present time she leads an adult Bible study class.  JMU was very special to Joyce in preparing for her life's work, thus her desire to help other students achieve their personal goals.
