Mrs. Dickerson began her career here as a nursery school teacher at Anthony-Seegar Campus School.  She became coordinator of Madison's early childhood education program in 1967 and received a grant to develop one of two graduate degrees authorized by the state.  She also initiated one of the state's first undergraduate programs in the field.  She coordinated the program until 1982, when she returned to full-time teaching.  The Dickerson retired in 1986.
