Dr. Watson is involved in research on hydrogen energy systems in addition to the development of courses and curriculum within the School of Engineering.

Experience

Before joining JMU, Dr. Watson was an assistant professor of engineering at Elizabethtown College, and a faculty member in the department of mechanical engineering at Clemson University.  Dr. Watson also worked for several years in industry as a Senior Engineer at ITT Aerospace, a Mechanical Engineer at Orbital Sciences, and a Mechanical Engineer at Energetics, Inc. before entering academia.

Specializations/Research Interests

Alternative energy systems (fuel cells, wind, geothermal, solar), Thermal management systems, Energy efficiency, and Sustainability.
