K-5 Core 

The K-5 Elementary Core Academy was back this year in its original format allowing participants to focus on four of the major content areas:  Language Arts, Social Studies, Mathematics & Science. Many sessions included technology applications and assessment strategies, and there was integration across content areas. In addition to improving content knowledge, the goal of the elementary academy was to offer participants novel, constructivist approaches to learning and teaching that help teachers meet and extend the VA Standards of Learning through meaningful and engaging learning opportunities for all children.
