The K-5 Literacy Strategies Academy focused on the application of literacy strategies across the curriculum.  The goal of the elementary academy was to offer participants novel, constructivist approaches to learning and teaching that will help teachers meet and extend the VA Standards of Learning for vocabulary development, fluency, and general reading comprehension through meaningful and engaging learning opportunities for all children.  The sessions incorporated differentiated strategies for teachers to take directly back to their classrooms for use in the next school year!
