Pre-K Early Childhood Special Education

Next Steps to Inclusive Practices: Collaboration with Early Childhood (non-ECSE) Colleagues

The ECSE/ECE strand is designed for in-service educators working with young children, ages 2-5 years, who have disabilities or delays and who are teaching in inclusive early childhood education learning programs. The theme for the early childhood special education strand will be, "Next Steps to Inclusive Practices: Collaboration with Early Childhood (non-ECSE Colleagues." During last year's CTA 2012, educators learned the value and benefits of inclusive educational practices. This year, we will delve one step further to explore how to collaborate with our colleagues.  Educators will learn pratical, hands on strategies to support their work to prepare for opening day in Fall 2013. This year's session is for pairs of collaborating teachers in the early childhood classroom - ECSE and ECE teaching together and/or consulting with each other.

Thanks to VDOE Special Education Instructional Services Office grant support, the registration fee and graduate fee is waived for participants of the Pre-K Early Childhood Special Education Academy.
