The goal of the elementary academy will be to offer participants novel, constructivist approaches to teaching K-5 students to help teachers move away from being 'sages on the stage' and learning to become 'guides on the side'. Teachers will extend their knowledge of how to teach the VA Standards of Learning through meaningful and engaging learning opportunities for all children The sessions will incorporate differentiated strategies for teahers to take directly back to their classrooms for use next fall.
