Program Involvement:
- Teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in both the Inclusive Early Childhood Education (IECE), and the Exceptional Education Department (EXED)
Professional Experience and Interests:
- Prior early interventionist
- Former early childhood special education teacher.
- Worked as a parent educator on early literacy
- Interests include: special education teacher education, school/university partnerships, and special education policy
Current Research:
- Early-Career Faculty Needs in Special Education
- The role of special educators in the changing and dynamic educational climate
- Oral language and literacy
Three Pieces of Advice for Future/New Teachers:
- Presume competence in your students
- All students can learn; it’s your job and your challenge to teach them
- Continue to learn everyday; from your students, with your students, and in your life
