Christine McKearney completes her degree in May 2013 and has accepted an 8th Grade Science position at Rippon Middle School in Prince William County, VA.  She is an ELED grad but was a Graduate Assistant in EFEX.

Rebecca Henderson lives in Harrisonburg and is teaching kindergarten in Augusta County.  She completed her degree August 2012.

My name is Kelly Mertz and I am a graduate student in the Inclusive Early Childhood Education program.  I am currently student teaching in Vienna, Virginia in a second grade classroom.

Taryn Goodwin, M.Ed, BCBA is a Training Associate for Virginia Commonwealth University – Autism Center for Excellence (VCU-ACE).  Here is a link to a brief bio on the VCU ACE website  http://www.vcuautismcenter.org/about/bio.cfm?id=155

Jessica Naylor will be teaching Pre-K SPED starting Fall 2013 with King and Queen County Public Schools.

Lauren Smick, a 2011 SPED MAT Major teaches in the DC Public School system and is participating in a new idea of education.  DC Public Schools has implemented the IMPACT System, which is a very interesting concept, for we work on  merit pay and/or the possibility of being fired if our performance is not up to par.  I have five observations that are unannounced that are graded among a rubric that I know about, my children's assessment scores, and my overall professionalism which is a score given by administration.

With all of this being said, I was rated one of the top teachers in DC this year and will be awarded a $10,000 bonus.
