OT Students Participate in CarFit Event
Eighteen students in the Master’s of Occupational Therapy program will participate in a CarFit event at Sunnyside Retirement Community on Friday afternoon May 1, 2009.
CarFit is an educational program created by the American Society on Aging and developed in collaboration with AAA (American Automobile Association), AARP, and the American Occupational Therapy Association. The participating occupational therapy students participated in a CarFit training seminar on April 23rd led by Judy Franz, OTR, Geriatric Specialist, who is an adjunct faculty person in the Department of Health Sciences. This experience is part of the OT 640- Occupational Therapy Intervention throughout Adulthood class instructed by Dr. Jeff Loveland. CarFit participants will be given a copy of their individual CarFit check up results at the end of their assessment on 5/1/09.
