Description

The College of Integrated Science and Technology (CISAT) is comprised of the Computer Science, Communication Science and Disorders, Graduate Psychology, Health Sciences, Integrated Science and Technology, Kinesiology, Nursing, Psychology, and the Social Work academic departments. CISAT is a college of professional programs that use science and technology to enhance the quality of life in the modern world. Academic programs within the College seek to promote interdisciplinary education and teaming; the integration of real world experiences (including internships, field placements and active student involvement in research) in the academic programs; the integration of the natural sciences, social sciences, humanities and information technology throughout the curriculum; and collaboration across departments and disciplines both within the College and throughout the academic division. The work of the College is enhanced through its strong and extensive outreach programs which include the Institute for Innovation in Health and Human Services, the Institute for Infrastructure and Information Assurance, the Blue Ridge Area Health Education Center, the Mine Action Information Center, the Office of Substance Abuse Research, the Center for High Performance Manufacturing, the CSD Applied Teaching Laboratory, the Shenandoah Valley Child Development Center, the Virginia Manufacturing Innovation Center, the Lifelong Learning Institute, and others.
