Thank you for your interest in the School of Art, Design, and Art History!
Our process is unique in that students interested in majoring in Architectural Design, Graphic Design, Industrial Design, or Studio Art must submit a portfolio through SlideRoom in addition to James Madison University's application process.
Students intending to major in Art History are not required to submit a portfolio or additional materials for review, but should follow the regular JMU admissions process.
All students (Art, Design, and Art History) are encouraged to attend an on-campus Portfolio Review and Interview Day to be considered for scholarships. If you are unable to attend one of our Portfolio Review Days and would still like to apply for a scholarship, please email email@example.com to be considered for alternate arrangements.

Students intending to major in Art History are not required to submit a portfolio or additional materials for review, but should follow the regular JMU admissions process, and attend an On-Campus Scholarship Interview session. On-Campus Portfolio Review Days and Scholarship Interviews will be announced in Summer 2016. Please check back for more information.
There are no additional forms or separate applications to fill. Scholarships are based on the On-Campus Portfolio Review and/or Interview.
For more information regarding awards available, please visit our Scholarship page.
OFF-CAMPUS PORTFOLIO FEEDBACK SESSIONS:
Again, scholarships are only awarded to On-Campus Portfolio Review Day and Scholarship Interview applicants. If unable to attend an On-Campus session, Off-Campus Portfolio Feedback Sessions are held in the Fall semester for prospective students to meet our faculty and gain professional feedback on their physical portfolio prior to applying to the School of Art, Design and Art History.
Off-Campus Portfolio Review Days will be announced in Summer 2016. Please check back for more information.
