On June 13th, 2013, the Carrier Family Fountain was dedicated as a gift from family and friends celebrating the 80th birthday of Dr. Ronald E. Carrier, James Madison University, President Emeritus. The arboretum thanks Mast Landscapes, LLC, for donating the redesign of the Ernst Terrace landscaping.
