Welcome to James Madison University and to the Division of Academic Affairs. We pride ourselves in offering academic programs and other experiences that benefit our students and ultimately influence their development as enlightened and educated citizens. Many new and innovative programs are contained within the division as well as stellar programs in the liberal arts and sciences, business, health professions, and education.  The University prides itself in integrating a comprehensive liberal arts education with appropriate professional training necessary for successful employment. Students are prepared to undertake a lifelong learning process that will continue their education for many years after graduation from James Madison University. 

The Division of Academic Affairs also provides a broad range of services to faculty and staff in order to promote their professional development and enhance their education.
We have an extensive array of relationships with local, state, federal, and international groups. These relationships foster various outreach activities that are sponsored by the University and provide exceptional off-campus field experiences for our students and faculty.  We are committed to a global experience for our students both culturally and economically.  As such, exposure to cultures and value systems throughout the world
is a core aspect of our curriculum.

Goals of the Academic Community
