JMU Video Producer

Photo: Nathan Marsh

After starting his career in the freelance world, radio industry and the advertising business, Nate returned to JMU in October 2005 as a video producer for university marketing. The School of Media Arts and Design graduate creates multimedia projects that promote the university, including areas like admissions recruiting, alumni and development. "It's wonderful to be given the opportunity to promote a brand in which I feel so personally entrenched," he says. Nate says he believes in the things JMU values -- top-notch instruction and applied learning and the recognition that knowledge is liberty. "Our business is higher education," he says. "Who in the private sector contributes a portion of their paycheck back to the corporation unless the mission and goals of the company are dedicated to the greater good?" Nate believes in reinvesting in the human potential of JMU students as well. "As a School of Media Arts and Design graduate, I am now honored to be able to support the SMAD Scholarship Fund."

"As a university employee, I'm surrounded by the fruits of my labor. I recognize that my effort does more than influence a corporate bottom line. Because of this, I buy into the professional expectation of giving at JMU -- literally."
