Celebrating Women. Supporting Students. Sustaining JMU.
It is our mission as Women for Madison to find ways to increase the collective financial impact women's giving has on James Madison University. As an organization focused on engaging women of varied interests and accomplishments in the life of the university, the Women for Madison Executive Advisory Council has chosen scholarships as our key fundraising initiative.
At JMU, scholarships are a key area in the University's strategic plan and comprehensive campaign. JMU is losing many promising and deserving students to other universities where families get the scholarship support they need to make college affordable. In short, our reputation has outpaced our resources. For many first-generation college students and low-income students, receiving a scholarship becomes their only opportunity to make college a reality, which in return changes the course of their lives forever.
As Women for Madison, we can support the University and its key initiatives so students won’t have to sacrifice a college education or settle for their second-choice university.
Dolley Madison – Dukes Pay It Forward Scholarship Fund

Eligible recipients must be in good academic standing and demonstrate financial need as determined by the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships.
Centennial Scholarship Endowment
The Centennial Scholarship Endowment fund supports minority and underrepresented students from low socio-economic backgrounds in their pursuit of higher education. Students also receive academic support, peer mentoring, interaction with faculty mentors, cultural enrichment activities and career-oriented workshops through this program.
Madison For Keeps
