Robin Goodman (’83), joined the Women for Madison’s Executive Advisory Council Fall 2021 and is proud to stand with other women in the Amethyst Circle.  She earned her BBA degree in Finance from JMU and went on to own and run a successful Real Estate Appraisal business in the Richmond area before retiring.  While at JMU, she participated on the yearbook staff and in Sigma Kappa sorority.

Robin, along with her husband Clement (’84), enjoys giving back to their university and currently, they serve as Steering Committee members for Unleashed:  The Campaign for James Madison University.  They have also served as past members of the Parent’s Council and are currently involved in the Duke Club, where they received the Duke Club Proud and True award in 2019 for their contribution and service.  They have also been featured in the Being the Change calendar.

Robin is also a past member of the JMU Alumni Board of Directors and was honored to be chosen for the Madison Commission for Strategic Planning Committee several years ago.

The Goodmans have also been involved by establishing a Faculty Endowment in the College of Business, as well as a Faculty Fellowship that is distributed across the university to help fund research projects and other faculty endeavors.  They have also donated to the College of Business’s new Hartman Hall and are proud to have the Athletic Director’s suite in the new Atlantic Union Bank Center named in their family’s honor.

Robin lives in Richmond, Virginia and she enjoys yoga, reading and spending time with her grandson, Whitten.  Robin and her family have a deep JMU tradition.  Besides her husband, Clem (’84), being an alum, her 2 children, Jessica (’09) and Wesley (’13 and ’15) are also Dukes, as well as Jessica’s husband, Jeff (’09) and Robin’s mother-in-law, Nancy (’51).
