Vanessa Evans-Grevious currently serves as Vice President of the Ron Brown Scholar Program. The Ron Brown Scholar Program is widely regarded as the most prestigious college scholarship program in the country for African-American college bound high school seniors.

Before joining the Program, Vanessa was the Senior Assistant Dean of Admissions at the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg; prior to that, she served as Assistant Director of Admissions at James Madison University.

Vanessa earned two degrees from JMU: a Bachelor of Business Administration and a Master of Education in College Student Personnel Administration. She served as the inaugural chair of the JMU Women for Madison Advisory Council and currently serves as Rector of the JMU Board of Visitors. She also just completed her 3rd term on the Board of Directors for the National Scholarship Providers Association (NSPA), previously served on the Board of Directors of the JMU Alumni Association, served as president of the JMU Black Alumni Association and served on the board of the Monticello Area Community Action Agency in Charlottesville, Va. She is married to Richard L. Grevious, a 1992 JMU graduate.
