Stephanie Ayres Bowlin graduated from JMU in 2001 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Public Administration. She was a member of the Marching Royal Dukes Color Guard and the Residence Hall Association. After graduating, Stephanie moved to Alexandria and joined the Community Associations Institute, with her last role as Senior Manager of Education Programs.  Her family relocated to Richmond in 2005 and she spent eight years at the University of Richmond as the Manager of Professional Development Programs for the School of Professional and Continuing Studies. Since 2013, Stephanie has served as the Executive Assistant to the Headmaster at The Steward School, a JK-12 independent school in Richmond. She enjoys going to school with her children each day!

A big believer in continuing education, Stephanie has earned several certifications over the years, including Certified Program Planner (CPP), and Certified Faculty Developer (CFD), and also completed the Mini-MBA Program at the University of Richmond. She served on the Advisory Board of Learning Resources Network, and has presented at several national conferences.

Stephanie met her husband, Eric '02, while at JMU, and they live in Midlothian with their two future Dukes, Ainsley and Parker. She enjoys giving back to JMU as a member of the President's Council, Madison Founder's Society, and Women for Madison Executive Advisory Council. The Bowlins are also JMU football season ticket holders and active in the JMU Alumni Association.
