Description: How well can you focus on what really matters and ignore appealing or seemingly harmless distractions? We all have competing demands on our precious time. The skill of attention, the ability to focus, is critical to achieving excellence. Join us as we explore ways to maintain our focus despite a sea of daily distractions that can keep us from achieving our important personal and professional goals.

In this workshop, participants will:

  • Explore the anatomy of attention
  • Examine the concept of attention as it relates to self-awareness (inner), other awareness and systems awareness (outer)
  • Learn how sharpening attention enhances learning, performance and leadership
  • Develop an understanding of Smart Practice and the true secret to becoming an expert at anything
  • Learn what it means to be a Well-Focused leader
  • Flex our Focus muscles by participating in a brief exercise focusing on our breath

This workshop is based on the book: Focus: The Hidden Driver of Excellence by Daniel Goleman.
