Diseases of the cardiovascular system remain among the leading causes of death in the United States.  Exercise & Nutrition for the Healthy Heart will explore the benefits of cardiorespiratory exercise and heart healthy nutrition. Participants will determine ways to increase physical activity levels, learn how to monitor heart rate, and become familiar with various nutritional resources available on and off campus.

In this workshop, participants will:
• Identify 3 activities that will promote heart health that can realistically fit into their current lifestyle
• Operate a heart rate monitor
• Identify 10 foods considered to be heart healthy
• Identify 3 nutritional resources available on and off campus
