Description:

All newly hired employees, within 90 days of hire and as a condition of continued employment, are required to complete the 30 minute long, online Preventing Workplace Violence for Employees orientation course and quiz created by JMU’s Office of Human Resources and the Department of Human Resource Management (DHRM).

JMU has a responsibility to maintain a work environment free from violence, threats of violence, harassment, intimidation, and other disruptive behavior and to provide training and resources to university employees.

During this course, you will learn the definition of workplace violence and be able to identify:

  •  Prohibited conduct
  • Warning signs of violence
  • How and to whom to report potential violence
  • What to do in a violent situation
